The Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Oquaye, today [Thursday], November 23, sacked a deputy Minister of Communication, Vincent Sowah Odotei, from Parliament when he appeared to answer questions about his ministry.
Mr Odotei who is also the MP for La-Dadekotopon had come to represent the substantive minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.
But the Minority in Parliament protested he was not “well placed to answer probing follow-up questions” and thus called on the Speaker to defer the session.
Speaker Oquaye had no option than to yield to the request of the Minority to send the deputy minister away.
It is not known why Mrs Owusu-Ekuful could not appear before the House herself.
