YEN.com.gh came across the inspiring story of a little boy of five years old who helps his mechanic father at work.
The 5-year-old boy identified as Aba Amodu is a primary one pupil in Von Felly Primary School in Makurdi, the capital of Benue state, Nigeria.
Young Aba works on some motorcycles for his father when he visits his workshop. The talented boy has been unable to go to school for a while due to lack of funds.
His father expressed that he doesn’t like the way the boy works with him because he wants him to go to school to study.
The father identified as Daniel Amodu noted that he makes his son assist him so he would have something to do while he struggles to pay his school fees.
He said he pays part of the fees when he makes more money but his son still comes to work with him whenever he is sent away from school.
Amodu said: "My son is very smart and most times because of the hardship, when I work for some days and gather money I pay a little out of his fees, when they drive him from school he comes to assist me in the workshop"
Facebook user Ogi John who shared their story noted that the 5-year-old who couldn’t speak English fluently told him bravely that he wants to become a mechanic like his dad. He said: "I wan be mechanic".
John urged people to reach out to him if they are willing to help the young boy and his family.
