The death of Asempa FM broadcast journalist, Kwadwo Asare Baffuor Acheampong (KABA), appears to have brought unity to two 'rivals' in the sports fraternity.
The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi and his avowed critic, Patrick Osei Agyemang aka Countryman Songo embraced to cement their unity at the one week observation of the late presenter.
Songo who has over the years waged war over the GFA boss on his sports programme described him as the ‘head of a mafia’ group at the football governing body.
This angered Kwesi Nyantakyi who brought a $2 million libel suit against Songo and another sports presenter, Kofi Asare Brako, aka Abatay.
The GFA boss in a suit insisted that Asempa FM, a subsidiary of the Multimedia Group has been used to tarnish his image in a series of broadcasts involving both journalists.
But the neutrality and professionalism of KABA though no more was able to unite these two personalities who had vowed never to see eye-to-eye.
Mr. Nyantakyi after expressing his condolence to the bereaved family and the Multimedia Group donated GH₵2000 and 20 boxes of bottled water to support the funeral of the late KABA.
The late KABA was rushed to the Korle-Bu teaching hospital for an emergency care after a short illness.
However, he was pronounced dead on early hours of Saturday, November 18, 2017.
Though the cause of his death is still unknown, there are speculations he died of diabetes.
The late journalist left behind a wife, Valentina and a seven months old baby.
