Ibrahim Mahama, Kwame Despite, others donate to KABA's funeral

The one-week observation of the death of Asempa FM presenter, Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong, a.k.a KABA, was held on Saturday at the headquarters of the Multimedia Group.

The ceremony was attended by a number of notable personalities across Ghana’s media scene, as well as some politicians and businessmen.

KABA, whose sudden demise stunned the nation earlier this week, was honored with some great accolades from several colleagues and associates.

At the ceremony, some of the attendees donated towards the funeral cost of the late journalist.

Among the sympathizers who made generous donations to the family of KABA, were Former President John Kufuor, businessman and brother of Former President Mahama, Ibrahim Mahama and Osei Kwame Despite of the Despite Group of Companies.

A report by Myjoyonline.com, states these high profile personalities donated undisclosed amounts of money to the bereaved family, to support them in this difficult time.

Other individuals and organizations that joined to extend a helping hand included; Class Media Group, Alan Kyerematen, Rex Omar and Togbui Loli I, the Awomifie of Aiito.

There were also non-monetary donations from firms such as Kasapreko, Atinka Media Village and Global Media Alliance, who gifted cartons of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and boxes of water.

KABA passed away in the early hours of Saturday, November 18, at the Korle-Bu Teaching hospital after a short illness.

His funeral has been slated to take place from December 15-17, in Accra.
