The deputy minister, Barbara Asher Ayisi, revealed that reports circulating on social media with respect to education under trees are false.

In a report by www.mynewsgh.com, she stated that investigations conducted by the ministry showed that some persons, allegedly involved with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are behind such images.

The deputy minister made these comments during a town hall meeting organized by the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly.

The images, she said, seek to create the impression that there are inadequate facilities to implement the programme.

She added that the goal appears to be an effort to tarnish the image of the government.

New policies, she went on to say, usually come with challenges, but the government isn’t deterred in its efforts to implement the policy.

She stated that it is surprising some persons can mobilize students and execute such an agenda, all in the name of propaganda.

The deputy minister, who doubles as the member of parliament (MP) for Cape Coast North, advised heads of schools with such challenges to report to the regional directors of education or the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).

This, she added, would ensure that there is a prompt response to the challenge.
