The French president, Emmanuel Macron has revealed how pleased he was to have visited Ghana.

Moments after his official visit to Ghana, Emmanuel Macron shared how proud he is to have been the first president from France to have visited Ghana.

Meanwhile, president of the republic, Nana Akufo-Addo, The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, says Ghana stands ready to renew and deepen the ties of co-operation and friendship with France, for the progress and prosperity of their respective countries and peoples.

To this end, President Akufo-Addo has stressed that “we want our relations with France to be characterized by an increase in trade and investment co-operation, not aid.”

This, according to the President “is the way to develop healthy relations between our two countries, and put Ghana at the high end of the value chain in the global marketplace, and create jobs for the teeming masses of Ghanaians, particularly the youth. Our vision is to build a free, prosperous, independent country, a Ghana Beyond Aid.”

President Akufo-Addo made this known on Thursday, 30th November, 2017, when the President of France, His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, paid a day’s working visit to Ghana.

The President noted that Ghana, under his leadership, has decided to turn her back on the old economy, which is dependent on the production and export of raw materials,
