Award-winning reggae/dancehall artiste Samini, says Shatta Wale has always seen him as a threat to his music career.
This threat, according to the ‘Linda’ hit maker, is what caused Shatta Wale to employ strategies ensuring that he Samini did not perform at the S-Concert.
Shatta Wale feared that he would outshine him in performing, Samini indicated.
In an interview on Hitz FM, Samini, privately known as Emmanuel Andrews Samini stated that for over ten years, Shatta Wale has felt intimidated by his (Samini) presence in the music industry.
In reacting to matters arsing from the EIB Network’s S-Concert which took place last Friday night, Samini narrated that he was contracted by the organizers to mount the stage at exactly 1:30 am.
However, at that same time, Shatta Wale had already gone on stage to perform.
He stated that even though the fault was largely coming from the organizers, he was very much aware that Shatta Wale deliberately spent more time on the stage to frustrate him.
“Around 5: am after his performance, he posted on Facebook mocking my no-show.”
“This made me realized that he was intentional with what he did on stage so that I couldn’t perform,” Samini said.
Shatta Wale’s decision to stay on the stage for two hours and more did not affect only Samini.
Others including female star of the moment, Ebony, and Nigeria’s Mr. Eazi were also affected.
According to reports, the ‘Taking Over’ hit maker kept performing till patrons of the event began to leave the venue.
Therefore, Samini and the other affected artiste had to leave with disappointment.
Samini further complained about Shatta Wale spreading false news about him all the time.
“He tells people that I sabotage him but that is not true,” Samini stated in a related interview on Zylofon FM.
Recalling happenings at the ‘Mavado Live In Concert’ which took place in Accra in 2012, Samini disclosed that that was what started a ‘beef’ between he and Shatta Wale.
In that concert, Shatta Wale could not perform even though he had been billed to do so.
He consequently accused Samini of sabotaging his performance on that day.
However, Samini has debunked that accusation.
The ‘My Own’ hit maker explained that Shatta Wale did not have a hit song back then and so his performance was pushed back and later did not happen at all.
