On this day, December 5, 1983, one of Ghana’s beloved screen stars, Jackie Agyemang Appiah was born.
Known professionally as Jackie Appiah, the Canadian-born actress is one of Ghana’s favorite faces in the showbiz industry.
The actress shot to the spotlight after her first onscreen appearance in the early 2000s hit TV series, Things We Do for Love, but it was the film Divine Love by Venus Film Productions that really made Jackie Appiah a household name.
Since then, the actress has starred in several successful Ghallywood movies including Beyonce: The President’s Daughter, Princess Tyra, Her Excellency, and Mummy’s Daughter.
Jackie Appiah’s fame in the film business did not stop in Ghana, as the actress has received much praise for her work in other countries on the continent including Nigeria, and even beyond the shores of Africa.
Jackie’s stellar acting prowess has not gone unnoticed, as she has received numerous awards at the Ghana Movie Awards, the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards and the F.A.C.E List Awards in USA for Best International Actress.
Aside her acting career, Jackie seems to have a passion for travelling, which is exhibited by her numerous trips around the world.
She has also been voted one of Ghana’s most beautiful and stylish actresses, whose fashion choices usually center on simple yet elegant, and classy looks.
