A survey by the Pew Research Centre has revealed that only two countries in Africa boast more religious Christian men than women.
According to the study, Burkina Faso and Guinea-Bissau are the only countries in Africa, where Christian men are more religious than women.
This is completely at variance with the stats in most countries worldwide. The study noted that rarely do many countries have men who are more religious than women.
The survey sampled over 84 countries, and critically examined areas such as consistent prayer, attending religious services and believing in heaven and hell.
Pert the study, most religions also have women being more religious than their male counterparts.
In Africa, though, Burkina Faso and Guinea-Bissau stood out, emerging as the only two nations with a different narrative.
The study also revealed that Islam and Orthodox Judaism are the only two religions where men tend to be more religious than women.
This, according to the report, is because Muslim men usually attend communal Friday prayers at midday, whiles it is not a must for Orthodox women to attend worship ceremonies.
Islamic nations such as Senegal, Afghanistan and Mozambique also tended to have more religious men than women, the survey reports.
