The sixth day of the final funeral rites of the late Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II saw a special ceremony at the Manhyia Palace.
The wife of Asantehene Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, Lady Julia came to console her husband in public.
In fulfillment of Asante customs and traditions, she came to adorn the Asantehene with the 'Awisiado' as a form of consolation over his mother's death. The 'Awisiado' is a traditional gold necklace.
Apart from this special ceremony, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II continued to sit in state at Dwabrem to distribute palm wine and receive sympathies and donations.
The late Asantehemaa, who is the biological mother of Otumfuor Osei Tutu II passed away in November, last year aged 109 years.
Having been buried earlier, the two-week ceremony dubbed 'Ohemaa Ayikesie' is the final funeral rites for the late queenmother.
