The Controller and Accountant General's Department has issued a schedule indicating new dates of payment of salaries for public workers in 2018.
This is contained in a document signed by the Controller and Accountant-General, Eugene A. Ofosuhene.
The document has since been distributed to Chief Directors, Regional and District Coordinating Directors of all the various public sectors.
Others include Heads of Department, Regional Directors and the banks.
The first salary for the year will be paid on January 18, 2018, the schedule indicated.
Salaries, for on some occasions have been delayed.
This has been blamed on ghost names that appear on the government payroll.
However, it is hoped that the situation will be resolved in order that salaries delay would not be experienced in the coming new year.
The Contorller and Accountant General in the signed document said the various banks will start crediting individual accounts from the new dates.
However, changes will be communicated to the Ministries, Departments, Agencies, Assemblies (MMDAs) should the need arise with respect to the new dates.
