Fake policeman in police grips for duping interested recruits of GH¢30,000

- The Ghana Police have arrested one Pious Denteh, a sacked constable over a GH¢30,000 fraud case

- The sacked police officer reportedly collected that amount from his victims with the promise of helping them secure a place in the Ghana Police Service

- However, Pious bolted

A former Police Constable, Pious Denteh, is in police grips for duping interested recruits to the tune of GH¢30,000.

Mr. Denteh had arrived at this sum after collecting various sums from his victims Sekyere Salis and Kwabena Boadu, with the assurance of helping them enlist in the Police Service.

But after he got the money, the fake police officer bolted, leaving his victims feeling disappointed and loss financially.

This happened in 2015

According to a mynews.gh report, the two victims, assisted by one Vida helped in apprehending the ‘thief’.

Vida is said to be aware of the situation and together with others, she has been on the lookout for the fake police officer since 2015 when the incident happened.

It has also been established that the former Police Constable was dismissed from the Ghana Police Service for unprofessional conducts.

According to reports, Pious was still seen clad in the police uniform after his dismissal; thereby deceiving others.

He has since been handed over to the Intelligence Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service at the Police Headquarters as investigations continue.
