Star actress, Nana Ama McBrown has revealed how her first 'big' pay cheque turned out to be a deceptive tactic by a movie producer.
Narrating what happened, she said she landed a role in a 2007 movie and was handed a GHC500 cheque but it turned out that the producer did not have enough money in the account and was aware of it.
“The day I received the cheque, I was jittery for the stated day to go clear it. On that day I dressed up early for an Adum bank and presented it at the counter and was asked to wait. The waiting period arose my suspicion and later, I was told to send back the cheque to the issuer because he had no funds in the account. I did and it would shock you he took it and gave me GH¢70”, she said.
Though this shortlived her happiness and frustrated her, it did not deter her from pursuing the career she had chosen after quitting professional football.
According to her, these were but the few of the challenges she had to del with on her journey to being famous.
