- Half of all students at Kwahu fail their BECE every time
- It's been revealed that no candidate has ever had a single grade since 2008
It has emerged that no BECE candidate in the Kwahu East District of the Eastern region ever scored aggregate 6 in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
This is according to the Kwahu East District Director of education, Kwasi Boafo, who reveals that the entire district has not recorded any feat in the BECE since the district was established.
According to him, candidates in both public and private schools have rarely recorded aggregate 7,8 and 9 are also rarely recorded in the district.
It has also been revealed that almost half of students who sit for BECE examination in the district fail their exams.
Meanwhile, checks reveal that the difficulty in access to quality education remains one of the major challenges faced the district. This is because a majority of teachers refuse placement there.
It has also been figured that the poor academic performance is adversely caused by the influx of Fulani herdsmen in the district.
