Ofori Amponsah opens up on how 'ungrateful' Kofi B took undue credit for hit song ‘Yaw Dompre’

Respected Ghanaian highlife musician, Ofori Amponsah aka Mr. All4Real, has revealed that he has gone through some bad experience in the past, therefore does no longer write songs for other musicians.

According Ofori, he was the brain behind Kofi B’s hit song, ‘Yaw Dompre’ but the artiste failed to recognize him after the song became hit.

Speaking on an Accra-based Hitz FM, the talented musician maintained that some ungrateful Ghanaian artists have taught him bitter life lessons.

“Sometimes you go through this job and you don’t want to give out to other people because of an experience,” he said.

All4real also revealed that, “I wrote a song, it was a very powerful song, I listened to the song and said ‘this artiste's voice will fit the song’, so I invited the artiste, and said this is the song and I want you to sing it”.

The ‘Otoolege’ hitmaker, in his interaction added that Kofi B categorically told him at the initial stage that the song sounded too ‘local’ and only recorded upon his insistence.

However, after the song became instant hit, he [Kofi B] in an interview gave himself undue credit for the lyrics, saying he got the inspiration whiles working on his farm somewhere.

“It is painful,” Ofori Amponsah lamented.

Although the highlife singer held back many names, he however maintained that ‘Yaw Dompre’ in particular, he was expecting the needed recognition from Kofi B.

Later in the interview, Ofori confirmed that most of the songs that became hit were all written by him.
