A week to KABA funeral: former Prez Kufuor confirms attendance

- Former President Kufuor has confirmed his attendance of the funeral rites of KABA

- KABA family called on the former President at his residence yesterday to officially inform him about KABA’s death

- Other dignitaries including the Director General of the National Lottery Authority, Mr. Osei Ameyaw have also confirmed their readiness to attend the funeral

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has confirmed his willingness to attend the burial ceremony of KABA.

The final funeral rites of the late ‘Ekosii Sen’ presenter Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong will take place on December 16.

The former President made this confirmation when the family of the late Multimedia broadcaster called on him at his Airport resident to officially inform him of their son’s demise.

The eight member delegation which was led by Nana Oteng Bosomprah I, Aburi Amanonihene and the family Spokesperson Elder George Darko also updated the former President on the burial arrangements made.

The funeral invitation handed to Kufuor indicates that the body of the late broadcaster will be laid in state on Saturday December 16 2017 at the Forecourt of the State House at 4:am.

This will be followed by the pre-burial service at the State House then finally to the Osu cemetery for burial, stated a myjoyonline report.

A thanksgiving service will be held in honour of the deceased KABA at the Gethsemene Methodist church at Mamprobi, Accra.

The former President in turn consoled the family on the loss of their son.

He praised the late KABA and acknowledged his diligence and professionalism towards his work as ‘Ekosii Sen’ presenter though he had a short life.

The delegation later called on the Director General of the National Lotteries Authority, Mr. Kofi Osei Ameyaw who also confirmed his attendance.

KABA died on Saturday November 18, after a short illness.

He left behind a wife and an eight-month old baby.
