Otherwise known as Maradone Yeboah Ajei, the music star also goes by the name Gurunkz.
His unique rap style, coupled with his fluidity in the local languages earned him the title “the people’s artiste”.
He credits his rise to fame to his 2012 hit single, Lapaz Toyota.
With several other hit songs, he has gained fame in and outside Ghana.
He is on record as one of the few Ghanaian artistes whose works have appeared in Francophone charts.
In the year 2017, Guru, has had his fair share of media attention.
The first instance was when he purchased a G Wagon worth $120,000. He got a similar model for his manager at that time, Ray Moni.
The next time we heard of him, he had undergone a massive transformation, and looked like a Rastafarian.
Then he shocked the world with the news of an attempt by a close friend of his to end his life.
Guru was once again in the news for his sudden decision to unfollow everyone on Instagram, a social media platform.
In recent news, Ghanaians were pleasantly surprised when news of Afia Schwarzenegger being signed unto Guru’s NKZ Entertainment label came to light.
With all these and more, one can confidently say that the hip life artiste has indeed come a long way.
