The police in Awutu Bawjiase, in the Central Region, have arrested a 78-year-old hunter for allegedly possessing and selling human parts.
The old-man, Kojo Asare, who claims to be a snail hunter, allegedly approached a fetish priest in the area with a proposal to supply him with human parts.
According to an Adomonline.com report, the fetish priest was said to have shown interest in the business, and urged the 78-year-old hunter to come along with the 'parts' on December 6.
However, the fetish priest tipped off the police who laid ambush for the hunter and arrested him with a bag containing the alleged human parts.
According to the police, during their interrogation of the hunter, he disclosed that he found the parts in a forest when he was hunting for snails, and decided to sell them.
The suspect then led a team of police investigators to the site where he claimed to have found the human parts.
The report adds that the police only found an attire and a faded identification card believed they believe belonged to person who was murdered.
The suspect has since been arraigned before court and remanded into police custody for further investigations.
