A mourning mother of one of the deceased students of Kumasi Academy (KUMACA) in the Ashanti Region has disputed the fact that her child died of the H1N1 Influenza A virus strain.
Madam Afia Serwaa, mother of one of the deceased KUMACA students still has a hard time coming to terms with the death of her ward. According to Madam Serwaa, reports stating that her child died of the H1N1 influenza virus - otherwise known as swine flu - are not true.
Speaking on Abusua FM, the bereaved mother revealed that her child's death comes exactly five months after the death of her father, Madam Serwaa husband. Madam Serwaa said if one of the teachers in KUMACA was also affected by the virus, she would have accepted her child's reported 'cause of death.
"I personally told the doctor that the claim my ward died of H1N1 is not true. The shocking thing is that she died exactly five months after her father died”, she disclosed on Abusua Fm." Said Madam Serwaa.

The mourning mother suggested that foul play could have been involved in the death of her child, and that occult practices may have been used in the matter.
She went on to say that some students now have loads of money stashed in their accounts, and suggested that the funds may have been the proceeds of occult rituals.
"Why is it that no teacher or other workers were affected... Why will H1N1 virus be selective?-Yaa Serwaa?" asked the bereaved mother.
