A policeman, Raymond Amegashie ,who conspired with three other people to rob a trader, Hellen Asante of Asante Supermarket, has been apprehended.
In a report by mynewsgh.com, the incident occurred at Nungua, a suburb of Accra.
Corporal Raymond Amegashie attempted to escape after the others were arrested, but he was caught at the Tsopoli Barrier, as he tried to flee to his hometown in the Volta region.
His colleagues, Bright Dorkpenu, Ibrahim Ayebo and Stanley Akorli, were arrested by the police at the Abbatoir Police Snap Check Point aropund 10pm after a hot pursuit.
The accused persons, armed with Ak47 assault rifles on board Toyota Corrola taxi cab with registration number GX 9514-13, attacked the victim at her shop.
Amid sporadic firing, they succeeded in making away with GHc40,000.
When searched, items retrieved from them included local currency valued at GH¢19,950, $600 USD, two mobile phones and a pistol with six rounds of ammunition.
All four suspects are currently being detained by the police. .
