Ex-president, John Dramani Mahama is in Kenya to celebrate with President Uhuru Kenyatta as Kenyans mark the 54th Jamhuri Day.

Jamhuri Day is a special day in the political history of Kenya used to celebrate the achievement of self-governance of the country from British colonial rule on June 1st, 1963.

The celebration, celebrated on the 12th of December each year, saw ex-president, John Dramani Mahama register his presence.

On his Facebook wall, Mahama expressed how honoured he was to have been a part of the celebration.

"Happy to have joined my brother and friend, HE Uhuru Kenyatta, his Deputy, William Ruto and the people of Kenya at the 54th Jamhuri Day of the Republic of Kenya," Mahama stated.

The political ambitions of John Dramani Mahama seem to be heating up despite his shocking loss in the 2016 elections. So far, all 10 regional chairmen of the opposition National Democratic (NDC) have called for John Dramani Mahama to lead the party in the 2020 elections.
