Popular broadcaster, Kwami Sefa Kayi has described as 'nonsense' recent comments by private legal practitioner and member of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abraham Amaliba over the petition against Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson, Charlotte Osei.
There is currently a petition before the Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo, seeking for the removal of the Mrs Osei, and her two deputies, Amadu Sulley (in charge of Operations), and Georgina Amankwa (in charge of Corporate Services).

According to the petitioners, Forson Ampofoh and Godsway Dzado, both drivers of the Commission, their head and her deputies had engaged in corruption and mismanagement.
Appearing before the CJ on Monday, Mrs Osei pointed out that she had not been officially served with the petition and has a result has written to the Judicial Service to provide her with reasons why she has been asked to appear before the committee.

Commenting on the development, Mr Amaliba could not understand why the EC boss did not have a copy of the petition when such serious allegations have been made against her.
“…What has the woman done? She has declared election results in your favour and so what again do they want from her that they are using the process to harass her?
“Where are the CDDs? Where are the Occupy Ghanas? If it were to be the NDC government all these people would be speaking by now. Where is Emile Short? Where is Professor Martey? This country will burn and we will see where all of us will be and so they should continue doing it”, he threatened.

But the Peace FM Morning Show host deems Mr Amaliba's outburst as reckless and unnecessary especially coming from a lawyer.
“You can’t threaten that this country will burn, what do you mean? Who is he, we’ve pampered politicians in this country for too long a time and so they think Ghanaians are subservient to them. He’s a lawyer and should know best, he should stop spewing out nonsense. What does he mean by Ghana will burn?", he stated.
