- Alban Bagbin says he will emerge victorious in the NDC flagbearreship position ahead of the 2020 polls
- He also opined that John Mahama's involvement in the party’s unity walks is unfair
NDC Member of Parliament for for Nadowli/Kaleo constituency, Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin has declared his intention to contest and eventually win the party’s flagbearer contest ahead of election 2020.
“I am a winner…. you know I am a winner. When I imbibe on something, I commit everything to it and with the support of the almighty God I always win. I don’t fail in what I do and I am sure of winning this primaries,” he disclosed in an interview.
He also accused the former president John Mahama of disregarding the Kwesi Botcwhey report.
He indicates that Mr Mahama’s involvement in the party’s unity walks organized by non-executive member buttress the point he is not acting in conformity with recommendations of the 455-page Committee’s report.
“Definitely he is not conducting himself in conformity with the recommendations of the Kwesi Botchwey report and I will call on him to rather rethink what is happening. He should not behave as if it is the mob that is taking him along because he is a leader and must show leadership. What you see in the crowd does not mean their members of the NDC. There are a lot of teeming unemployed youth who are doing nothing and definitely join,” he stated.
There are reports of many bigwigs in the party interested in the party’s flagbearer position. Some of the names include: Hannah Serwah Tetteh, Dr Ekow Spio Gabrah, Sylvester Mensah, Haruna Iddrisu, etc.
