A funeral ceremony being held at Kpando in the Volta Region virtually came to a standstill when former President John Mahama arrived at the event.
The mourners who were prior to the former President’s arrival in sombre mood suddenly became cheerful when they caught sight of him at the funeral ground.
It was the funeral rite held for the late Volta Regional Women’s Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Madam Mercy Kuada.
Former President John Mahama received a rousing welcome from the people when his vehicle touched down at the event’s ground.
Also, he received a warm reception from them as he went round to greet the bereaved family and the gathering.
Some NDC supporters seized the opportunity to take some pictures with the former President.
There were other top NDC members and officials at the late National Women’s Organizers funeral.
They included former President Jerry John Rawlings; Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho, and National Chairman, Kofi Porturphy.
From all indications, the former President really enjoyed and appreciated the people of Kpando for their overwhelming reception given him.
