Award-wining Ghanaian dancehall musician, Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla, has explained the motivation behind his album ‘Epistle of Mama’.
In an interview with GHOne TV on Monday, Stonebwoy said the album was prepared with his late mother, Madam Catherine A. Satekla who died two years ago, in mind.
He stated “My mama was my Yaa Asantewaa, my Kwame Nkrumah, and even though she died, to me she lives on.”
Stonebwoy has fond memories of his late mother when she was alive.
According to him, the late Madam Satekla played a pivotal role in his life and music career, adding that he can never forget those times his mother stood by him.
“Even though she is no more living, I feel this album will always remind me of her and her good deeds,” Stonebwoy said.
The EOM album has 24 songs; 12 dancehall tunes and the other 12 made up of afrobeat songs.
He also touched on his BHIM Concert which has been slated for Friday, December 22, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The ‘Hero’ hit maker further revealed that the 2017 edition of the BHIM Concert is going to be the concert his father is going to witness for the first time ever.
Therefore, I promise to deliver the best at this BHIM Concert, he stressed.
Touching on videos for the songs on the EOM album, Stonebwoy said he is willing to work with any Ghanaian director provided he has the necessary equipment.
He said this to also refute allegations that he is selective when it comes to shooting videos for his songs.
“I reach out to directors myself, they don’t approach me and I am currently speaking with some of them to come on board my EOM album,” he disclosed.
“All I am looking out for is the creativity and the availability of equipment,” Stonebwoy emphasized.
