41-year old laptop thief caught by Airport Police; displays his stolen goods after raid

A 41-year old Ghanaian reported to be called Mr. Lawrence Acquah has been apprehended and arrested by the Airport Police upon a tip off after it was purported that he was moving from office to office stealing electrical gadgets.

According to a post made on Facebook, Lawrence Acquah paraded himself as a businessman and use this pretense to rob people of their valuables during public gatherings.

It is reported that he signed up for events and conferences and would normally carry out his raid during break periods within the conference, event or seminar.

According to reports, Mr. Lawrence Acquah was always neatly dressed and interacted with participants of such conferences and in offices he visited so as not to appear suspicious.

This time, it is reported that the notorious ‘thief’ had been raiding the offices in and around Airport City including the offices of the National Communications Authority.

Mr. Lawrence Acquah is believed to have been arrested with the help of some Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras which had been installed in one of the buildings in the area.

After his apprehension and immediate arrest, the 41-year old man led policemen to his hideout where many of his stolen goods were being stored.

After a thorough search of the entire premises, the police found in his possession, some 9 laptops, laptops bags, pen drives external hard drives, internet routers among other valuables which are believed to have been stolen.

The Police is yet to put out a formal invitation to complainants to come and identify their lost gadgets and other valuables.

It is however reported that further investigations are still ongoing.
