Former president John Agyekum Kufuor has disclosed that he did not offer any advices to former presidents J.E.A. Mills and John Mahama because he did not get the opportunity to do so.
According to him, the relationships he had with his successors were only civil and thus did not give him the chance to offer any advices to them.
Former President Kufuor served as president from 2001 to 2009 when he handed over to the late President Mills.
Recounting his relationship with Professor Mills who was succeeded after his death by Mr Mahama, former President Kufuor pointed out that though they were on good terms with him, he did not talk much with them about politics.
“…Immediately after me came late president Mills. He was civil with me generally but perhaps the opportunity wasn’t there for me to suggest that look at things this way or that way. Then president Mahama came very nice with me but again not much of an opportunity,” he said in an interview on Starr FM's Starr Chat on Wednesday.
Answering a question by show host Bola Ray that “so you didn’t suggest anything to former president Mahama?”, he asked “what could I suggest? We as it were very civil…we meet on very friendly basis not politically.”
