-Some gunmen are believed to have attacked the MP for Asunafo South constituency

-The laid waste to some of the properties belonging to the Member of Parliament
Some unknown gunman have attacked Eric Opoku, the Member of Parliament for Asunafo South constituency and former Brong Ahafo Minister on the day of Christmas.
According to an eyewitness who spoke to Starrfmonline.com, the weapon-wielding assailants stormed the house of the Member of Parliament on 25th December as the legislator hosted some members of his constituents in the morning around 9 AM.
The eyewitness went on to say that the attackers who were carrying some locally-manufactured pistols and machetes. It is reported that they destroyed a number of vehicles including a Land Cruiser with registration number GT 9449 -14 belonging to the legislator.

Other vehicles include a Nissan pick-up, three taxi cabs and two private cars were also smashed.
Some of the people who were being hosted by the Member of Parliament are reported to have sought refuge in the rooms of the MP to avoid been injured by the attackers.
The assailants went on to throw stones at the vehicles smashing their windscreens and some parts of the vehicles. They also pelted stones and smashed the sliding doors and windows of the legislator’s house.
