Ghanaian shot dead, 21 injured in Christmas shootings in Chicago

At least one Ghanaian and three others have been confirmed killed in a deadly Christmas shootings in Chicago, United States.

The deadly gun battle is said to have left 21 other victims in a critical condition on Monday, December 24, 2017.

According to myakoonline.com report, the shootings and killings mark one of the deadliest incidence on a Christmas Eve in the history of Chicago.

Reports say a Ghanaian named Albert Adu Aboagye was shot dead in the Chatham neighbourhood on the south side of Chicago during the shootings.

The report added that Mr Adu Aboagye was shot seven times in the chest and head killing him instantly in front of his house around 12:20am when he was returning from work.

According to the Chicago police and the Cook County Medical Examiners who confirmed the dead, two males walked up and opened fire killing him on the spot.

However, no one has been arrested by the police so far over the brutal killing.

The shocking news is said to have hit hard the Ghanaian community in and around Chicago, especially members of the SDA Church where he was an active member.

According to some of his church members and friends who stormed his house on 81st/Wabash in Chicago after the news, the Ghanaian community has lost a very generous man.
