United Kingdom-based Ghanaian hip hop musician and rapper, Big Shaq, has explained why he stopped schooling to pursue a career in music.
In an interview with Ghanaweb, Big Shaq disclosed that he was ‘block’-headed when in school.
According to him, he found it very difficult to learn and understand some of the subjects he was studying in school.
He also realized that he does not like mathematics, Big Shaq stated.
Therefore he had to look out for other pursuits upon realizing that the classroom wasn’t where he wanted to be.
“Physics, chemistry, biology were not penetrating my head no matter how hard I tried.”
“I realized school wasn’t for me and that is not where I want to be so I stopped to do music,” Big Shaq said.
Born Michael Dapaah, Big Shaq is 26-year-old and aside from music is also an actor and a comedian.
In this year, he made his first debut in music with ‘Man’s not hot’, which gained global attention.
The official video of his hit song, ‘Man’s not hot’ which features renowned American DJ, DJ Khaled and others American musicians has garnered nearly 140 million views on youtube.
Big Shaq is currently in Ghana to spend the holidays with his family.
He was one of the many artistes who performed at Sarkodie’s 2017 Rapperholic Concert.
Big Shaq had stated in an earlier interview that creativity knows no boundary, and urged up and coming artistes to maximize their potentials and never limit themselves.
