ACP Kwaku Buah, Commander of the Manhyia Police Division, has expressed that he believes some road casualties ought to be considered murder in order for the perpetrators to be properly dealt with.
Speaking at an event organized by the Road Users Empowerment Center (REC), ACP Kwaku Buah stated that some drivers ought to personally be held accountable for the deaths of innocent bystanders in road accidents.
According to the high ranking police officer, deaths in some road accidents ought to be considered as murder in order to deal with the culprits adequately.
According to police reports, 95 percent of road accidents are caused as a result of human error.

“In other part of the world, when a driver knocks down a pedestrian on the shoulder of the road to death, it is considered murder. Such a person faces charges in the law court for murder," said ACP Kwaku Buah, adding that, "I’m looking forward for such a law to be passed in our country."
Later speaking to mynewsgh.com, ACP Kwaku Buah stated that - according to him - some drivers who cause unnecessary deaths should be dealt with the same way authorities deal with armed robbers, and other similar culprits who kill people with other weapons.
