The seasoned journalist was of the view that if the Special Development Initiative minister who also doubles as the Member of Parliament for Awutu-Senya East Constituency is ‘shown the exit’ and her ministry ‘dissolved’ by the president, the country will be saving a lot of money.

The radio personality’s comments are in line with some reports of an impending reshuffle exercise to be carried out by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo just some days into the New Year.

It has been speculated that some of the appointees of the Akufo-Addo administration were going to ‘lose’ their jobs or be replaced by other for non-performance in the first year of the NPP’s administration.

Already, social media has put out some names of the appointees they feel have not lived up to expectations and expect a change.

However, Afia Pokua’s comments come on the heels of the popular “GHc 800,000” website scandal to have hit the Ministry for Special Development Initiatives of which Hawa Koomson is in charge.

According to a budget that was circulating on social media, the ministry was requesting for sums totaling over GHc 1,000,000,000 for their projects next year. As part of the requests, the ministry was asking to be given GHc 800,000 for the creation of a website; an amount many Ghanaians felt to be very ‘ridiculous’.

In the wake of these outrageous sums allocated to some of the things in the widely circulated budget, the minister, Hawa Koomson came out to rubbish the claims and said that it was just a ‘typo’ and that the same was not what they were requesting.
