Ghana’s star of the moment, Ebony Reigns, has been crowned the ‘Best Artiste of the Year’ at the 2017 People’s Celebrity Awards 2017.
This award comes few days after Ebony won the ‘Overall Best Artiste of the Year’ award at the BASS awards after beating heavyweight acts including Samini, Stonebwoy and Mz Vee.
This time at the People’ Choice Awards, Ebony beat veteran female musicians such as Becca; Adina; Efya; Feli Nuna; Mz Vee; Sista Afia for secular female musicians.
Then Diana Hamilton; Joyce Blessing and Patience Nyarko for gospel musicians.
In all, Ebony beat 9 of her colleague female musician, despite being the youngest and ‘new comer’ in the industry as compared with the others.
She took to her instagram page to thank her fans for their support; stressing that she couldn't have made it without them.
Pricilla Opuko Agyeman, as Ebony is known in real life put up an impressive performance last year with the release of hit upon hit songs.
In 2017, Ebony released ‘Sponsor’, ‘Date your father’, ‘Poison’, ‘Hustle’, ‘Aseda’ and the last for the year, ‘Maame Hw3’.
Within a space of one month, ‘Maame Hw3’ garnered over 1 million views on Facebook and that excited the young singer so much.
The young artiste was hailed by many people for her performance and talent.
Nonetheless, she received huge criticisms for her choice of dress and grooming.
Ebony is eyeing the biggest award of all and that is the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, this year.
The young talented artiste has tipped herself as deserving to win that prestigious award.
With the BASS Artiste of the Year Award and also the latest, Best Female Musician of the Year at the People’s Celebrity Awards, it is hoped that grabbing the 2018 VGMA Artist of the Year would come easily to Ebony.
Other award winners at the event included Shatta Wale – Male Musician of the Year and Celebrity of the Year; Male Sports Personality of the Year – Asamoah Gyan; Fancy Gadam – Music Video of the Year and song of the year with ‘Total Cheat’.
