Popular Ghanaian lawmaker, Kennedy Agyapong, has disclosed that the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, frustrated his efforts at developing his community.
According to the member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, no government was directed at his constituency for all of the 8 years the NDC was in power.
He disclosed that some appointees of the NDC had been warned against granting requests that came from him.
“Eight years I never went to any ministry for a project. Whatever project I did, it did it with my personal money” he revealed
“They will not even give to me. I cannot speak for everybody but if you are in opposition it is very tough”, he went on to say.
He further stated that he is yet to receive his share of the MPs’ Common Fund, which is GHc140,000, as the District Chief Executive (DCE) in the area at the time failed to approve the release of the funds.
The legislator concluded by saying that in the face of these challenges, he still executed some of the projects he had in mind.
