Reigning Radio and Television Personality (RTP) of the year, Nana Aba Anamoah, has descended heavily on the national team, Black Stars, for failing to win the Best Team of the year award at the just ended CAF awards.
The CAF Awards which was held on January 4, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), saw the Pharaohs of Egypt win that prestigious award.
Nana Ama, who felt disappointed that the Black Stars couldn’t win that award especially when the event was being held in Ghana took to her twitter page to ‘flog’ the team with series of trolling posts.
One of the posts reads: “National team without a desire for the year”
Another post reads: “National team with $3million dollars to fly to Brazil of the year”
She also questioned the attitude of Ghanaian players whom she accused of being “too known”.
Probably, the host of ‘Cheers’, a sports programme aired on GHONE, did not understand why the Ghanaian team qualifies for international football matches but rarely lifts a trophy.
She also did not get why they players are seen running about on the field of play and appear to be working hard yet their hard work is not impressive enough to win any of them the ‘Best African Player of the Year’ Award.
Nana Aba wrote: “When was the last time a Ghanaian won African Player of the year? Mo ti Ghana na mo y3 paaapaaaa ne too know egu y3 so (which, when translated, means the stars are in Ghana only ranting and behaving like they know everything when they actually know nothing ) #playerswithoutdesire”
Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh has gathered that the last time a Ghanaian player won the Africa Cup of the Year was in 1992 and that’s about 26 years ago.
Egypt’s Mohammed Salah who also plays for Liverpool was awarded the 2017 African Player of the Year at the CAF Awards held here in Ghana yesterday.
