- A Ghanaian booking agency has blamed the Nigerian organizers for the way Ghanaian performers were treated at CAF's recent event
- They say the Nigerian organizers hijacked the entire show
The booking agency that worked with Ghanaian artists brought together for the recently held CAF Awards has pointed the accusing finger at the Nigerian event organizers for the way Ghanaian performers were treated at the event.
According to Mr. Gregory Ankrah who's with BookMe World Agency, his agency did everything that was required of it and that things didn't go as scheduled because of the Nigerian organizers.
Since the event that took place on January 4th, 2018, Ghanaians have voiced out a certain amount of displeasure at the fact that the only two Ghanaian performers at the show were Efya, who only sang the national anthem, and Kidi, who practically performed as guests were leaving.
Other's have also pointed out that, on the other hand, Nigerian artists - and Congolese artist Fally Ipupa too - all got to perform at proper intervals in the show.
Mr. Ankrah, who was speaking to Showbiz A to Z's Naa Ashokor, said that many things didn't work out as planned during the CAF event.
“At the awards, even the person who was sharing the water was Nigerian. So many things went wrong on the show," he said.
According to George Ankrah, the entire show seemed to have been taken over by the Nigerian organizers, and failed to heed multiple prompts to let Ghanaian artistes take the stage.
“I was hitting the production people when are my artistes going to perform and they came saying they will,” he said, al thought it did not happen.
