- Actress Juliet Ibrahim is pointing accusing fingers at some Ghanaian officials for sabotaging her from hosting CAF awards
- The actress is alleging that the said officials rather supported the idea of flying down another person from South Africa to co-host the event
Talented Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim, has disclosed that she was tipped to host the recent CAF awards alongside Didier Drogba, but she was seriously sabotaged.
According to Juliet, organizers of the awards contacted some Ghanaian officials to front for the deal on her behalf but disregarded her with the reasons of ‘ they don’t have her contact’.
Juliet Ibrahim in a thread of tweets revealed that she was snubbed by organizers of the event because her fellow Ghanaians who were contacted, claimed they did not know how to reach her.
“I’ll speak from a personal experience; apparently, the organizers came down to Accra and asked a few of the Ghanaians they know for my contact because they wanted me to host alongside Didier Drogba. But, when they were asked, they replied with “oh we don’t know her number”, Juliet alleged
The actress in her tweets expressed shock since the organizers were initially insistent that she co-hosts the show due to her past glories with CAF ceremonies.
But the said Ghanaian officials succeeded in sidelining her and rather supported a South African to be brought down to co-host the show.
“This response allowed the organizers to fly in a South African host to co-host with Didier. Only for me to bump into one of the organizers on 3rd January and he narrated all that went down to me. It was now too late to put me on the bill to co-host. Life goes on,” the actress lamented.
Few days after the CAF awards, there have been several controversies after performances on the night were dominated by Nigerian artistes.
Though it is still not clear why many Ghanaian entertainers were snubbed at the awards, CAF has issued an apology to some Ghanaian artistes including Shatta Wale and Kidi.
Shatta Wale, had expressed serious concerns about how he was prevented from performing at the CAF Awards held in Ghana few days ago.
The CAF officials have also ordered for further probe into the matter to correct 'damages' in the near future.
