6 talented musicians who are the future of Ghana music
Ghana music is gradually coming of age. This is, in part, due to the vibrancy of the current crop of artistes emanating from the country.

Over the years Ghana has had a lot of talented musicians, but very few have really managed to make impacts both locally and internationally.
Fortunately, though, that dock has been broken, with many Ghanaian artistes earning collabos with their foreign counterparts.
Currently, the Sarkodies, Shatta Wales and Saminis are the kings when it comes to Ghana music, as their impacts are far greater than the others.
However, it is fair to say that the other musicians below the food chain are also pulling their weights in a bid to see their musical careers progress.

Here are six very talented artistes who are the future of Ghana music.
1. Kidi
RnB singer Dennis Nana Dwamena, known by stage name as Kidi, is one of the most talented artistes in Ghana currently. The 23-year-old has seen his hit song ‘Odo” enjoy massive air play since it was released last year.
Kidi, who is currently signed on to Lynx Entertainment, has already been exposed to international collaborations and is on course to soon become an international star.

The talented singer had Davido and Mayorkun on his ‘Odo’ remix after the song broke onto the Nigerian market. Kidi’s potential is undoubted, having emerged winner of the MTN Hit maker season 4 in 2015 and he will definitely go places.
2. Kuami Eugene
Another marvelous musician who could soon be dominating the industry in Ghana is Eugene Marfo, known in showbiz as Kuami Eugene. The singer has been a revelation since his discovered during the 2016 edition of the MTN Hit maker reality show.
Kuami Eugene had his breakthrough year in 2017, with three of his songs enjoying massive air play across the country. Ghanaians must have taken notice when he released ‘Boom Bang Bang’, but he went a step further by dropping ‘Angela’ which became the most played song between October and November 2017.

Upon the release of the video, ‘Angela’ became the most viewed in the country for three months running, clocking over one million views in that period. Certainly Kuami Eugene is one to look out for in the near future.

3. King Promise
New sensation Gregory Bortey Newman, popularly called King Promise, is one of the fastest rising artistes in Ghana. His music career came into the limelight in 2016 and since then he has never looked back.
King Promise has recorded hit tracks such as 'Oh Yeah', 'Hey Sexy' and 'Selfish and has been constantly praised by Sarkodie for his impressive compositions.

Several of his songs were on charts last year, while his talents were also recongised during the 2017 4Syte TV Music Video Awards, where he won the Best Discovery Video. He has also had collaborations with the likes of Fuse ODG as he looks to further pierce the Ghana music industry.
4. Kurl Songx
RnB singer Kurl Songx has made a very big impact in the Ghana music industry in the last 12 months. The singer’s biggest hit is the song “Jennifer Lomotey”, which he featured Sarkodie on.
Kurl Songx’s magical voice is one that is rare, with his ability to switch pitches endearing him to many. Indeed, many have tipped him to swoop the award for Best Male Vocalist at this year’s Ghana Music Awards.

5. Fancy Gadam
Tamale-based musician Mujahid Ahmed Bello, known in musical circles as Fancy Gadam, is definitely one of the future stars of the Ghana music industry. The singer surprised many when he picked up the Best New Artiste award at last year’s Ghana Music Awards, ahead of favourite Medikal.
However, not many can doubt the impact of Fancy Gadam. His song with Sarkodie titled ‘Total Cheat’ became an instant banger upon its release.

A show he organized in 2016 got the Tamale stadium filled to its capacity and all this for an artiste who has not yet reached his peak. A bright future certainly awaits Fancy Gadam and the Ghana music industry.
6. Ebony
Ghana music in 2017 has been all about Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, known by stage name as Ebony Reigns. The controversial singer has basically been everywhere with her numerous hit singles.
Ebony recently swept a host of awards at the 2017 Bass Awards, winning the Best Dancehall Video as well as the overall best Artiste of The Year.

The dancehall artiste is the favourite to win the Artiste of The Year gong at this year’s Ghana Music Awards due to her impressive outputs in the last 12 months. And she is definitely the future of Ghana music.
