The music icon has been awarded at the Sound City MVP Awards Festival in Nigeria.

He won with his hit song ‘Pain Killer’ which features Nigerian musician Runtown, in the Best Collaboration category.

Sakordie beat contenders including Timaya, Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal, Becca, Toofan, in that category to win that award which ceremony took place at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos.

Other award winners included Davido, Olamide, Tiwa Savage and Wizkid, who won in different categories.

Sarkodie, boss of ‘Sarkcess Music’ is undoubtedly a successful musician and one of the internationally recognized artistes that Ghana can boast of.

He is a highly sought-after musician and has won uncountable number of awards since he hit the music scene some years ago.

Sarkodie has been an ‘habitual’ winner of the Artiste of the Year award at the Ghana Music Awards, and other international awards such as the BET Awards, EMY Awards, Africa Entertainment Legend Awards and many more.

He is the host of ‘Rapperholic Concert’, one of the biggest entertainment shows held in Ghana annually.

The ‘Hand to mouth’ hitmaker has released many albums, with his recent being the ‘Highest’ album which features a host of Ghanaian and international musicians.

During the launch of ‘Highest’ album which took place at the West Hills Mall last year September, a large number of fans reportedly thronged the venue to support the super star.

He was said to have shed some ‘tears of joy’ seeing how much Ghanaians love and support him.
