Acting general secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has hinted that president of the republic, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo will contest the 2020 elections unopposed.
According to the acting general secretary, he will be shocked if any official from the opposition party tries contesting the president in the lead up to the primaries in 2019. Speaking on Joy FM, the John Boadu revealed that all party members are fully satisfied with the success of the president and that he is the best choice for the party in 2020.
"The upcoming primaries of the NPP will have Nana Addo contesting unopposed. I will be shocked to see the president having a contender in the primaries. Everyone is satisfied with his performance and we believe he must continue what he is doing," John Boadu revealed.
The revelation by the acting general secretary follows unconfirmed allegations that the president will be handing over to his vice president - Mahamamudu Bawumia - due to old age and a frail age.
