High life musician Francesca Duncan Williams, known in showbiz as Sista Afia, has alleged that plus-sized ladies in the Ghana music industry are being sabotaged.
According to her, certain industry players have deliberately made it a point to side-line plus-size ladies who are into music.
She lamented the situation, insisting talent is not based on the size of an artiste but by what she can do when presented the chance.
The songstress went on to state that the music industry in Ghana appears to favour “skinny girls”.
Sista Afia said: “If a female artiste is big does not mean she does not have talent or the person deserves less in the industry.
Because people are looking skinny does not mean the industry is for skinny females. Stop trying to sabotage people, there are a lot of big girls out there who have multiple talents, and they know what they're doing.
Don't to put that out there for people to strain themselves, like you are trying to take people's dreams away. Don't be making such comments on radio and TV stations.”
Sista Afia rose to the scene after releasing her popular song titled “jeje” featuring dancehall artiste Shatta Wale.
