Boy, 17, kills mother over missing memory card

The police in Sefwi Wiawso have arrested a 17-year-old Junior High School (JHS) pupil, Emmanuel Gyan, over the murder of his biological mother.

Gyan is reported to have killed his 52-year-old mother, Faustina Agyeiwaa, by hitting her head, severally, with a pestle after which he set attempted to set her body ablaze.

The boy had accused his mother of taking a memory card from his phone. Though the mother had denied the accusation, a furious Gyan went ahead to attack and kill her.
YEN.com.gh understands that the incident happened Wassa J.Y No.1. in the Sefwi Wiawso district on Monday, January 15.

Graphic Online reported Gyan was arrested and brought to the Sefwi Wiaso police station by his biological father, Isaac Somuah, aged 58, assisted by one Stephen Amponsah.
Her body has since been deposited at the Bibiani government hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.
