Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale has indicated that if he decided to pick up stand-up comedy as a profession, many of the Ghanaian comedians in that profession would be out of business.
Speaking in an interview with Abeiku Santana on a program called “Atuu” which airs on Accra-based UTV, the “Dem Confuse” hit maker revealed that he was so good at stand-up comedy that if he decided to enter into the business, Ghanaian comedians such as DKB would no longer be invited to shows.
The musician revealed that he had told DKB earlier that if he (Shatta Wale) decided to start doing comedy shows, the likes of DKB were going to go hungry for the rest of their lives.
He revealed that he had the niche of being very funny and could easily pass off as a comedian to many people who come into contact with him.
He however added that the only thing stopping him form ‘taking over’ the comedy industry in Ghana was because of the brand he had tirelessly built around himself.
Shatta Wale told ace journalist Abeiku Santana that people would end up taking him for granted and not treating him seriously like they should if he took up comedy.
The “Ayoo” hit maker said he did not want to be invited for interview and send the wrong impressions that he was coming to joke around.
Shatta Wale recently took a swipe at his former manager, Bulldog by alleging that the artiste manager was a fun of “Togo Jeans” which cost less than GHc 50.
The artiste was recently in the news when he took a swipe at some artistes who were alleged to have wanted to ‘get into the pants’ of dancehall act AK Songstress. He warned them to stay clear off her and not try to take advantage of her.
