A video of a “made in Ghana” helicopter goes viral

Information available to YEN.com.gh shows that a helicopter, which appears to have been manufactured from pieces of wood, has been tested at an unknown location.

A video of the helicopter, which is painted white with red, yellow and green stripes on its body, shows two men attempting to fly it.

Neither the identities nor the qualifications of the two men are readily known, but their invention shows they are familiar with the helicopter and are capable of operating it.

After posting the video on his website, celebrity blogger, Ameyaw Debrah wrote: "African ingenuity? #accra#ghana #lagos #nigeria #africa #inovation#inventions".

Others also passed comments on the video. According to @rhin_kan, "We need to just start inventing and stop importing from China, period!"

All @ireneatubiga could say was "Hehehhehehehhehee. Lord have mercy".

@poku_ntiI however shed more light on the helicopter, claiming that he knows "where this is packed; it is on the high way from Berekum to Dormaa".

In @owusuahasante5's opinion, Ghanaians should encourage those behind it, rather than mocking their attempt. He went ahead to say that the inventor of the airplane did not get it at the first attempt.
