The Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, Hon. Andrew Barnes, has shared a post on Twitter urging local authorities to do more to improve the state of sanitation in Ghana's capital city.

In his tweet, the head of the Australian mission urged local authorities to do more about the state of sanitation so to ensure that President Nana Akufo Addo's promise to make Accra the cleanest city in Africa becomes a reality.

Responding to the Australian Diplomat's tweet, the City of Accra thanked him and indicated that though the location was outside its jurisdiction, the proper authorities had been notified.
Nevertheless, the tweet has garnered mixed responses from Ghanaians on the micro blogging social media platform. Some have indignantly asked the Australian Ambassador what he has done about the situation himself, while others have equated the senior diplomat's tweet to public shaming.
