“I won’t cooperate with the Police today; not even tomorrow. I waps attacked by some NPP members but I’ve decided to keep this issue to myself and I won’t report to the police. In fact, I’m still at the toilet, they should come for my statement there” he said on Accra based Okay FM.

Abronye DC was allegedly attacked about last Saturday, January 13, at Atebubu by people reported to be members of the NPP while he toured the place as part of his campaign to contest the National Youth Organizer position of the party.

Immediately after the attack, the vociferous NPP man who has publicly accused Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Kwaku Asoma Cheremeh of corruption pointed fingers at the minister for the attack.

They [attackers] used metal bars to beat me; Jafa, the alleged lead attacker, warned that they would kill me for demanding the dismissal of the Minister. They hit my hand with the metal bar” he is reported to have said after the attack.

It is for this reason that Abronye has refused to talk to the police. Being the chairman of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC), Abronye believes Mr Cheremeh had enough influence over the police so their investigations will amount to nothing.

“I don’ think they will do any proper investigations because they are in bed with the Regional minister,” he stated in his latest interview while maintaining that he will not write any statement at the police station.
