The two fugitives were identified as Prince Osei and Atta Kwadwo after being arrested at Worawora in the Volta Region.
Last Sunday, an armed gang invaded the Kwabenya District Police Headquarters and murdered the Policeman on duty, before setting free seven other suspects who were being kept in cells.
The incident led to the Police launching a manhunt for the escapees and their accomplices involved in the jailbreak.
A bounty of GHc15,000 was subsequently placed on their heads, with the Police further releasing the photos of all the escapees to the public.
In a media briefing on Thursday, Inspector General of Police, David Asante-Apeatu confirmed that two of the escapees have been apprehended.
“A lot of intelligence has been gathered and they are being processed by a specialized team of investigators. We are therefore confident of arresting all the fugitives and all persons connected to their escape and murder of Inspector Emmanuel Ashilevi,” the IGP said.
He further stated that three other accomplices who aided in the jailbreak have also been arrested, including a 28-year-old woman, identified as Nancy Dentaa, a.k.a. Ewuraama.
The two other accomplices are George Yeboah Ackah, alias Kwesi Shower and Kofi Acheampong, alias Nana Owuo, with the latter believed to be the spiritual father of the suspects and the source of their weapons supply.
