- Dr. Bawumia was taken ill last week and was flown to the UK for medical care
- New photos have emerged that indicate that he is on his way to recovery
Following reports that the Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia had taken ill and had been flown to the UK for medical care, the country has been somewhat on tenterhooks, waiting to hear good news.
Some government officials have stated the vice president is currently resting and will soon return, the most notable of such statements coming from the Information Minister, Mustapha Hamid.
Earlier this week, one of the prominent members of the New Patriotic Party, Gabby Otchere-Darko, visited the vice president in London.
According to him, Dr. Bawumia at the time he met him, was feeling well and up for jovial, intellectual debates.
However, recent photos have emerged which show the vice president and the second lady taking a stroll on the streets of London, indicating that he is on the way, if not fully, to recovery.

The photos have garnered mixed reactions from Ghanaians, especially those on social media:
One person was concerned about the absence of security personnel for the Vice President and the Second Lady
We are glad he is well too.
Even the recent Kitchen stool reference had to come in...
Someone needs to him return to our economy's aid...
A very optimistic Ghanaian here...
The country certainly hopes he return soon, and fully recovered.
