Consumers of electricity have, for the past few days, been experiencing some power disruptions - a development which has raised concerns over the re-emergence of "dumsor".

The statement by GRIDCO followed assurance by the power minister, Boakye Agyarko that Ghana has enough power to sustain stable power from now till even the end of 2018 and beyond. The Minister of Energy stated there is enough power to sustain the whole country in 2018.

Speaking at the inauguration of Electricity Market Oversight Panel (EMOP), the minister stated that the needed foundation has been established to strengthen power production in the country. The 11 member panel includes representatives from the Energy Commission, Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC), Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCO) among others.
