Ghanaian actress Joselyn Dumas has revealed that she earned her first pay as a worker taking care of cats.
The television presenter is one of the most successful personalities on screen, but she has disclosed that her career in acting was never on the cards some years back.
Speaking in an interview with the Joburg Post Online, Dumas said her fist pay cheque came after she offered to take care of her neighbour’s cat.
She explained that it happened when she was in South Africa and a neighbour of hers needed someone to cater for her cats because she was going on summer holidays.
She further revealed that she was paid £100 for attending to the cats, adding that she used the money to a winter coat.
“My neighbour went away for summer holidays and I took care of her cats,” she said.
“She paid me my first 100 pounds, which I used in purchasing my first winter coat.“
Dumas has since risen to become one of the best actresses in the country and starring in many movies.
She has starred in award-winning movies such as ‘Potato Potahto,’ ‘Love or Something Like That,’ ‘A Sting in a Tale,’ and ‘A Northern Affair.’
She has also won a couple of awards both locally and internationally for her marvelous acting skills.
Born Joselyn Canfor-Dumas, she is celebrated for her work as an actress and Television Presenter.
The mother of one has a degree in Administrative law. She practiced as a Para legal before relocating to Ghana to pursue her dreams of becoming a Television Personality.
Her debut on Ghanaian Television was on music show, Rhythmz. She joined the erstwhile Viasat 1 to host its flagship Talk show, The One Show between 2010 and 2014.
Her first acting role was in the movie ‘Perfect Picture.’
